ET Labz is growing, and we’re looking for talented, compassionate, and engaging Music Instructors to join our team!
We are currently seeking instructors specializing in:
🎹 Piano
🎤 Voice
🥁 Drums / Percussion
Applicants may specialize in one or multiple areas.
ABOUT THE POSITION
ET Labz provides individualized music instruction for children and students of all abilities, learning styles, and experience levels.
This is more than simply teaching notes, scales, or songs. Our instructors meet each student where they are, adapting lessons to their individual strengths, interests, needs, and goals.
We want students to develop musical skills while also building confidence, creativity, self-expression, and a genuine love of music.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
* Provide engaging one-on-one music instruction in piano, voice, drums, or a combination of these areas
* Adapt lessons for different ages, abilities, learning styles, and experience levels
* Work comfortably with students of all abilities, including students who may learn, communicate, or process information differently
* Incorporate technique, rhythm, ear training, music theory, songwriting, creativity, improvisation, and performance skills when appropriate
* Help students work toward songs and musical goals that genuinely interest them
* Create an encouraging environment where students feel successful and confident
* Communicate professionally with ET Labz staff and families
* Travel to scheduled lessons and program locations as needed
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal instructors are:
🎶 Skilled musicians with a strong background in piano, voice, drums/percussion, or multiple instruments
❤️ Patient, encouraging, energetic, and genuinely enjoy working with children
🌈 Comfortable working with students of all abilities and learning needs
💡 Creative and able to modify their teaching approach instead of relying on a one-size-fits-all curriculum
🤝 Professional, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of the ET Labz team
🚗 Based in Staten Island and have reliable transportation
🕒 Available during after-school hours, with potential evening and weekend opportunities
📅 Able to commit to a consistent teaching schedule
EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in private lessons, music education, performing, child development, or related areas is preferred.
Experience working with neurodivergent students and/or children with developmental, sensory, communication, or learning differences is a plus.
A music degree is welcome but not necessarily required. We are interested in finding talented musicians and educators who connect exceptionally well with children and understand that every student learns differently.
POSITION DETAILS
Position: Music Instructor – Piano, Voice and/or Drums
Location: Staten Island, NY
Schedule: Part-time | Primarily after-school hours
Employment: Independent Contractor
Transportation: Reliable transportation required
