Welcome to SINeighbors.com (“Staten Island Neighbors,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using our website, business directory, memberships, SMS program, or related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.
1. About SINeighbors.com
SINeighbors.com is an online community platform serving Staten Island residents and businesses. We provide business listings, community resources, local news and information, events, promotions, giveaways, and optional business membership programs designed to connect local businesses with the Staten Island community.
2. Business Memberships
Businesses may choose from available membership options, including Recommended Business and Featured Recommended Business memberships.
Membership benefits may include:
- Business directory listings
- Recommended Business recognition and badges
- Featured or priority placement
- Promotional opportunities
- Video hosting
- Social media promotion
- Business Spotlight articles
- Deals, events, jobs, announcements, and giveaways
- Access to participating business communities or networking opportunities
- Other benefits described at the time of enrollment
Specific benefits depend on the membership level selected and may change as our platform evolves.
3. Recommended Business Community Standard
Recommended Businesses agree to follow the Staten Island Neighbors Community Standard, including a commitment to quality service, professional communication, and respectful treatment of customers and members of the community.
Recommended Business status does not constitute a guarantee, warranty, certification, or representation that a business will meet the needs or expectations of every customer.
Residents remain responsible for conducting their own research and determining whether a business is appropriate for their individual needs.
If we receive repeated, credible, and unresolved complaints regarding a Recommended Business, we may review its participation and suspend or remove its Recommended Business status at our discretion.
4. Subscription Billing
Certain memberships are recurring subscriptions.
By subscribing, you authorize Staten Island Neighbors and our payment processor to charge your selected payment method according to the membership plan and billing schedule disclosed during enrollment.
Promotional offers, including free or discounted promotional periods, apply only as described at the time of enrollment.
Unless canceled, recurring subscriptions automatically renew each billing period at the then-applicable subscription price disclosed to you, subject to any required notice of pricing changes.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel your membership at any time.
Cancellation prevents future recurring membership charges but does not automatically remove your published business listing unless removal is separately requested or otherwise required.
No partial-month or prorated refunds are provided unless required by applicable law.
6. Business Listings
Submitting a business listing does not guarantee publication or continued inclusion in the directory.
We reserve the right to review, edit, decline, suspend, or remove listings that:
- Contain false, inaccurate, or misleading information
- Violate applicable laws
- Promote illegal activity
- Include offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content
- Generate repeated, credible, and unresolved complaints
- Violate our Community Standard or other applicable policies
- Harm the integrity, safety, or purpose of the Staten Island Neighbors community
We may contact a business regarding complaints or concerns and provide an opportunity to respond or address an issue when appropriate.
7. Featured Recommended Business Benefits
Featured Recommended Businesses may receive enhanced visibility or promotional benefits, including rotating priority placement and other features described at enrollment.
Featured placement may rotate among participating businesses, and placement order, frequency, and location may change.
While Featured Recommended Businesses receive enhanced promotional opportunities, we do not guarantee:
- Specific traffic levels
- Search engine rankings
- Sales
- Leads
- Customer inquiries
- Social media reach or engagement
- Return on investment
8. Social Media Promotions
Certain memberships may include promotional opportunities across Staten Island Neighbors social media accounts, groups, websites, or other community platforms.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, the timing, frequency, placement, format, and content of promotional posts are determined by Staten Island Neighbors.
Social media platforms operate independently from Staten Island Neighbors. We cannot guarantee the reach, engagement, visibility, availability, or performance of content published on third-party platforms.
9. Search Engine Visibility
Business listings and other content published on SINeighbors.com may be publicly accessible and may be indexed by search engines such as Google.
We cannot guarantee:
- Search engine indexing
- Ranking position
- Search visibility
- Organic traffic
- Click-through rates
- Continued inclusion in search results
Search engine indexing and rankings are determined independently by the applicable search engines.
10. User and Business Content
You retain ownership of content you submit.
By submitting content to Staten Island Neighbors, including business information, logos, photographs, videos, commercials, promotions, event information, job listings, announcements, and written descriptions, you grant Staten Island Neighbors a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, publish, reproduce, format, distribute, and promote that content in connection with your listing, membership, Staten Island Neighbors platforms, and related promotional activities.
You represent that you own or otherwise have the necessary rights and permissions to submit and authorize our use of the content.
11. Payments
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe.
Staten Island Neighbors does not directly store complete payment card information submitted through our payment processor.
Payment processing may also be subject to the applicable payment provider’s terms, policies, and privacy practices.
12. SMS/Text Messaging
If you choose to opt in to receive SMS/text messages from Staten Island Neighbors, you consent to receive recurring text messages at the mobile number you provide.
Messages may include community updates, announcements, promotions, giveaways, events, Recommended Business information, and other Staten Island Neighbors communications that are consistent with the consent you provided.
Consent to receive marketing SMS/text messages is not a condition of purchase, membership, or use of SINeighbors.com.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to a text message. After opting out, you may receive a confirmation message. You will no longer receive applicable marketing text messages unless you subsequently opt in again.

You are responsible for providing a valid mobile number and for notifying us or updating your information if your mobile number changes.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your participation in our SMS program is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
13. SMS Consent and Eligibility
By enrolling in our SMS program, you represent that you are authorized to provide the mobile number submitted and consent to receiving messages at that number.
SMS consent applies only to the communications described when you opt in and does not constitute consent to receive communications outside the scope of that disclosure.
Opting out of marketing SMS messages does not necessarily prevent us from sending non-marketing communications where otherwise permitted or required by law.

Our website and services may contain links to or integrate with third-party websites, payment processors, social media platforms, messaging providers, analytics providers, and other services.
Staten Island Neighbors does not control these third-party services and is not responsible for their availability, content, security, privacy practices, or actions.
Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Staten Island Neighbors shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of our website, directory, memberships, promotions, SMS program, or other services.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for claims arising from paid services shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Staten Island Neighbors during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
16. Business and Consumer Disputes
Staten Island Neighbors provides a platform designed to help residents discover and connect with local businesses. We are not a party to transactions or agreements between residents and businesses listed on SINeighbors.com.
If a resident reports a problem involving a Recommended Business, Staten Island Neighbors may contact the business, communicate the concern, and attempt to help facilitate a resolution.
However, we cannot guarantee that a dispute will be resolved or that either party will accept a proposed resolution.
Our involvement does not make Staten Island Neighbors responsible for the products, services, actions, omissions, representations, warranties, or contractual obligations of any listed business.
17. Disclaimer
Our website, directory, memberships, recommendations, SMS program, and related services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, accuracy, availability, results, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Recommended Business status reflects participation in our program and agreement to our Community Standard. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee of any particular business, product, service, or transaction.
18. Changes to Membership Benefits
We may improve, modify, add, replace, or discontinue membership features and benefits as SINeighbors.com and the Staten Island Neighbors community continue to evolve.
Material changes to pricing for existing recurring subscribers will be communicated in accordance with applicable law before the new pricing takes effect.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to our services, policies, business practices, or legal requirements.
When appropriate, we will update the Effective Date displayed at the top of this page.
Your continued use of our services following the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.

Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information, including information associated with SMS/text messaging.

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
