STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The guesses are in, the erasers have been counted, and Staten Island Neighbors has a winner.
Congratulations to Barbara Wespfall, who was the first person to correctly guess that there were 79 erasers in the jar, making her the winner of the Staten Island Neighbors Back-to-School Giveaway.
Barbara will receive a $100 Target gift card to help with back-to-school shopping and supplies.
The giveaway invited Staten Islanders to guess how many erasers were packed inside the jar, drawing hundreds of guesses and plenty of friendly competition from across the community.
Barbara can email StatenIslandNeighbors@gmail.com to claim her prize.
Thank you to everyone who participated, shared the giveaway, and joined in the fun. We’re looking forward to bringing even more raffles, giveaways, and community initiatives to Staten Island in the months ahead.
Made Possible by Our Recommended Businesses
This giveaway represents something bigger that we’re building through Staten Island Neighbors and SINeighbors.com.
Our growing network of Recommended Businesses helps make community initiatives like this possible. These are local businesses that have chosen to become active participants in the Staten Island Neighbors community and agree to our Community Standard for quality service.
SINeighbors.com gives Staten Islanders one place to discover businesses within our network, find local deals, save money, browse job opportunities, discover events, enter giveaways, and stay connected with what’s happening around the borough.
But the goal goes beyond creating another business directory.
We want to make it easy for local businesses to actively participate in and give back to the community they serve — and for Staten Islanders to recognize and support the businesses that do.
Giveaways like this are just one example of what that can look like.
Please Support the Businesses That Support the Community
When you need a local business or service, we encourage you to visit SINeighbors.com and look through our Recommended Business network.
And when you’re searching on Google, keep an eye out for “- Staten Island Neighbors” alongside a business in the search results. It’s an easy way to recognize businesses that are part of our growing Recommended Business network.
Every time residents choose to support participating businesses, it helps strengthen what we’re building and gives us the opportunity to continue expanding community programs, giveaways, events and other initiatives.
This is only the beginning.
The more Staten Islanders support the businesses participating in the network, the more opportunities we have to work together on things that benefit the community.
